Captain Riker finds his ship caught in a mesmerizing phenomenon
The U.S.S. Titan encounters a never-before seen phenomenon on the edge of the known frontier - a particle warp shower. A sudden storm of microscopic particles surged over the Titan, traveling at warp in a naturally occurring warp field.
Captain Riker listened, entranced, as the particles resonated whenever they splashed on the shields, sounding like electronic rain splashing down through the hull. It reminded him of the rain tapping on the tin roof on his father's cabin in Alaska when he was growing up.
Everyone on the Bridge glanced in wonder around them at the magical experience. And then, as soon as it had begun, it was over. The particles disappeared on their way through space to shower on realms unknown.
The bridge was drowned in silence as everyone was still basking in the experience.
"Mr. Neil," Riker cleared his throat at the helm, "pursuit course. We're going to chase that storm!"
